How We Grew Our Construction Business on LinkedIn

From 0 to 2,100 followers: The practical strategies and lessons learned from growing a construction business on LinkedIn with consistent content and community engagement.

2,100 Followers. 720 Newsletter Subs. 106k impressions so far this year.

When we started sharing content on LinkedIn, people said:

"Your buyers aren't on LinkedIn. That's a waste of time."

Today, the ProFormance LinkedIn page just passed 2,100 followers, and we've seen big results that challenge those old assumptions.

Here's What We're Seeing on LinkedIn:

  1. Our LinkedIn presence is helping us attract talent.
  2. We're building a rare online community for our industry.
  3. People in construction are reading our content and messaging us.
  4. At conferences, strangers in our industry mention our page and posts.

There's so much proof beyond likes and comments that we're getting noticed.

We've been consistently posting this year using a solid strategy from me, Barrett Williams and CLOHZ, Chelsea Olson.

In the past 90 days alone, we've seen a:

  • 190% increase in impressions.
  • 120% increase in engagements.
  • And an 80% boost in our followers.

If we can do it - so can you.

How We Did It: Real Advice for Growth

The same playbook that worked for us will work for you, or any business ready to invest in LinkedIn.

Here are the top lessons from our own experience:

  • Treat Your Page Like a Landing Page: Many prospects visit your LinkedIn long before seeing your website. So, it's imperative to make sure every visitor on your LinkedIn page understands your services in 5 seconds.
  • Key Posts Pinned: You should pin high-impact posts like project case studies, client feedback, and company videos.
  • Post at least 2x per week: Regularly share updates about recent work, positive outcomes, personal stories, the team, and testimonials. All written with the proper format and share images of your team.

Engagement and Community Amplifies Everything

  • Comment on Industry Posts: Build visibility and reputation through actively commenting on other people's posts in your industry.
  • Empower Ambassadors: Teach your team how to use LinkedIn, engage on other people's posts and create their own content.
  • Create a newsletter for your community: Don't be scared to create a newsletter and share it. You never know who will read it.

Here's the truth, LinkedIn growth doesn't happen by accident. It happens when you show up consistently, add value to other people's conversations, and bring your team along for the ride.

A single comment, a short post, or monthly newsletter issue might feel small, but stacked together, they create a ripple effect that builds a strong reputation, attracts top talent, and opens doors you didn't even know were there.

PS: Newsletter Milestone

When we launched our first LinkedIn newsletter in May, 400 subscribers signed up right away. This is more proof that construction audiences are on LinkedIn and they're paying attention. Want more insights and results? Subscribe to our LinkedIn newsletter and join the conversation.

We really want to encourage more people in the construction industry to join LinkedIn.

If you have any questions, please feel free to message me, Barrett Williams, or the ProFormance team personally. We really want to lead this new digital revolution.

Also, thank you for being part of our journey - and for proving that LinkedIn connects the construction industry with opportunity.
